I support writers, creatives and curious people through teaching, mentoring and coaching.

Whether you’re developing a creative practice, working on a specific project, navigating a transition, or simply looking for space to reflect and grow, I offer thoughtful, supportive and challenging conversations that help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
My approach combines over a decade of experience in the cultural sector with professional coaching training, creative practice and a deep belief in the value of creativity as a tool for connection, growth and change.
Teaching
I teach creative writing in a range of settings, from one-off workshops and guest sessions to longer courses and programmes.
My teaching is informed by the research, experimentation and questions that drive my own creative practice. As a writer working across poetry, fiction and non-fiction, I am particularly interested in how writing can help us investigate ideas, engage with the world around us, and discover new ways of thinking.
Alongside broader creative writing teaching, I regularly develop courses around more specialist areas of practice and research, including documentary poetry, experimental and hybrid forms, art writing, ecopoetics, creative research methods and interdisciplinary approaches to writing.
My teaching combines close reading, discussion, practical exercises and reflective practice, creating learning environments that are welcoming, exploratory and intellectually curious. I aim to support writers in developing both their craft and their confidence, while encouraging experimentation and critical engagement with contemporary writing.
I have taught for organisations including The Poetry School and the National Centre for Writing, as well as delivering workshops for community groups, cultural organisations and independent projects.
Mentoring
Mentoring offers dedicated support for writers and creatives seeking guidance, encouragement and an experienced outside perspective.
People come to mentoring for many different reasons. You might be developing a manuscript, navigating submissions and opportunities, planning a creative project, returning to your practice after a break, or trying to work out what comes next.
Drawing on my experience as both a writer and culture professional, I can help you reflect on your goals, identify opportunities and challenges, and develop a path forward that feels realistic and meaningful.
Coaching
As an accredited coach, I offer coaching for creatives, cultural professionals and anyone seeking space to think more intentionally about their work, projects or future direction.
Coaching differs from mentoring in that it focuses less on advice and more on helping you uncover your own insights, strengths and solutions. Through structured conversation and open questions, coaching can help you clarify priorities, work through obstacles, build confidence and move towards meaningful action.
People often seek coaching when they are navigating change, facing a difficult decision, developing a new project or trying to create more balance and purpose in their work and life.
How we might work together
I don’t offer fixed programmes or one-size-fits-all packages.
Instead, I shape support around the person, project and context involved. This might take the form of a single conversation, a short series of sessions, a workshop, a course, or longer-term support.
If you’re unsure what kind of support would be most useful, I’m always happy to have an initial conversation.
